Adoption STAR employees are asking for public support as they pursue a union election with the support of CWA Local 1122 in order to gain a seat at the table and negotiate wages, conditions, and policies in the workplace.
The campaign was organized due to the lack of response by the Adoption STAR executive team to address the concerns that staff have about cost-sharing for family health insurance plans, standards across the workforce for parental leave, equitable compensation, and proper protective equipment for employees whose jobs require them to work in hospitals with an elevated risk of COVID exposure.
It's our first day as a public Organizing Committee seeking recognition for caseworkers in the Infant & AOK programs, as well as Compliance workers. Please help us gain solidarity and tell Adoption STAR to remain neutral or recognize us, and right the unfair labor practice they committed.
Adoption STAR’s Infant, A-OK, and Compliance team members request community support in urging the agency to either recognize the majority they represent for their union or remain neutral as they pursue a union election, and reinstate the four employees illegally fired under section 8(a)(1) & (3) of the National Labor Relations Act to right the Unfair Labor Practice committed.
