CWA Local 1122 Tuesday July 20th 2010 1pm
We urge all members of this local to call your NY State Senator @ 518-455-2800 and urge them to vote yes on Senate Bill S7263. This bill requires the NY State PSC strengthen standards for worker and consumer protection in the event Verizon sells or merges in New York State. CWA and Verizon resumed negotiations today over the non surplus and over subscription retirement offer issues. No agreement has been reached. Both sides have agreed to negotiate further, confirmed meeting dates to be determined. We will update this tape as developments warrant.
CWA and Crisis Services continue contract negotiations over a new three (3) year contract. Non economic issues are being discussed as CWA awaits economic proposals from Crisis Services. Collective Bargaining is scheduled to resume on Tuesday August 10th. Our contract with Crisis Services expires on Tuesday August 31st.

Attention Verizon Unit members Earlier this week Chris Creager President of Verizon Telcom East Coast communicated with our members thru Verizon email in effort to solicit our members to contact their NY State Senators and ask them to vote against the telephone merger bill S7263. This email means two (2) things
· Verizon wants to sell in New York State · Verizon knows this bill may pass the Senate

CWA and Verizon participated in informal negotiations this past week over the non surplus and over subscription retirement offer issues. No agreement has been rerached. CWA continues to await fulfillment of our information request in order to proceed further into formal discussions. We will update these tapes as further developments warrant.
The American Red Cross Unit has a membership meeting scheduled for Saturday July 10th here at our Local Union Hall 3775 Genesee St. The agenda includes bargaining and strike updates. All members of this unit are urged to attend this meeting.
